OMC October 27th (Tuesday) Social Meeting

Posted October 3rd, 2009 by Ken Sharlin - This entry has been tagged with: monthly meeting, running, triathlon history

The OMC October 27th (Tuesday) social meeting will feature running and a bit of local history as its topic of the month. Mary Goss Crowson and Rosie Laughlin are the invited guests. Mary, owner of Ridge Runner Sports, Ozark Timing Systems, and an experienced marathon runner and triathlete, will share a brief history of running and multisport in the Springfield area, beginning in 1978 to the present. She will touch on training then and now, what we have learned, what has withstood the test of time and what we should never do again. Rosie--massage therapist, personal trainer, runner, and triathlete--will speak on specificity of training, how to avoid injury, the benefit of massage therapy, and some of her experiences.

In addition to getting some great information from our guest speakers, there will be an opportunity to meet other members, ask questions, join OMC, and make suggestions to improve our club. There will be prizes and giveaways. Light refreshments will be served.

Please "pencil in" this date on your calendar. Time: 7 pm. Location: The Pasta House, 4109 S. National Ave., Springfield
