Please don't forget a shout-out to everyone who participated in the most grueling Berryman A/R ever in its 9 year history! We had the local team of Dathan Atchison, Kendall Combs, Cynthia Bradley and Tony Cauchi win the 4-person 12 hour (by 3 hours!) and our own Dynamic Earth 2-person team of Ben Creehan and Jason Coleman won the 36 hour 2 person. Talk about multisport at its toughest!!! These people deserve some serious kudos for their accomplishments. During a true adventure race, not only can you NOT accept assistance from any non-racer on the course, but you have to figure out by map and compass the fastest route to get where you needed to go. This is not sissy racing, nor is it a sport where you are pampered. Please let's not forget to mention these folks who, for me, were a huge part of why many of us even got into multisport in the first place.

In addition, kudos to Tony Cauchi finished a 100 mile trail run in the Ouachita Mountains of Arkansas a couple of weeks ago. Despite some horrendous conditions (pouring rain the last 16 miles) and leg cramps, Tony still finished in 24 hours!

To finish off, people who are interested in mountain biking will not want to miss the BT Epic on October 24 on the Berryman. There will be several pro cyclists competing for a huge prize purse with over $1700 going to the first place finisher if they set a new course record! That is some pretty big money for ½ day’s work. Not to mention, these are probably some of the most extreme athletes you could ever hope to meet…and don’t forget the beer!
