About Us
Article I: Club Purpose Ozarks Multisport Club (OMC) provides information,motivation, training support, and social activities for athletes of all ages and abilities whose interests include triathlon, duathlon, aquathlon, and adventure racing. OMC was founded on the belief that fitness and healthy lifestyles are key ingredients to success in life. The principles of discipline, perseverance, preparation, and positive attitude are the values that guide our commitment to this lifestyle, and the sports that most embody it.
Article II: Club Name The official name shall be Ozarks Multisport Club (“OMC”).
Article III: Club Membership Membership is open to any individual who shares in the common purpose of Ozarks Multisport Club. Membership shall be granted without discrimination upon basis of race, creed, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, and physical or mental handicap.
Article IV: Club Officers Four officers and three directors shall comprise the Ozarks Multisport Club Executive Committee. Terms of office are May 1 of the calendar year and continue for 24 months, ending April 30. The offices are:
• President – presides over meetings, can appoint to fill board vacancies.
• Vice President – acts as president in the absence of the president. Fulfills various duties as requested by the president, and agreed by the vice president, necessary for administrative functioning of Ozarks Multisport Club.
• Secretary – responsible for keeping accurate minutes at officer’s meetings.
• Treasurer – pays club debt and accounts for club’s finances with a monthly report.
• Membership director – assists in enrolling new members, collects club dues (to be reported to the treasurer), keeps a current roster of club members, is responsible for the distribution of the new member welcome letter and packet
• Social director – assists in organizing monthly club social events, including arranging for venue and speaker or activity, creates yearly calendar of social events.
• Webmaster – helps to maintain club website, works closely with membership director and social director for website content.
Article V: Executive Committee Executive Committee meetings shall be held monthly. Dates and times of Executive Committee meetings and agenda items will be published on the club’s website and distributed by electronic mail at least two weeks prior to each meeting. Additional special meetings may be called by the President and the current club officers on an “as needed” basis.
All Executive Committee meetings are open to the membership at large.
The Executive Committee can appoint committees as needed for club business or activities.
There must be four Executive Committee members present to have a quorum.
Robert’s Rules of Order will govern all Executive Committee meetings.
Article VI: Member at Large Meetings and Socials Club Member at Large Meetings and Socials will be held monthly. Dates, times, and location will be published on the club’s website and distributed by electronic mail at least two weeks prior to each event.
Article VII: Club Elections Three months prior to the end of term for all officers and directors the President shall establish a nominating committee at the February Executive Committee meeting. The nominating committee shall consist of one Executive Committee member and one current club Member at Large. The committee shall ask for nominations from the floor of the February and March Member at Large Meetings and Socials. Additional nominations may be solicited by written correspondence. The committee shall prepare a ballot of nominated officers for presentation at the April Member at Large Meeting and Social and an election will take place at that meeting. Election winners will be announced at the end of the April Member at Large Meeting and Social, and the new club officers will assume their leadership roles at the May Executive Committee meeting.
Article VIII: Amendments to the Constitution Proposed amendments will be recommended by the Executive Committee. Any proposed amendments will be published on the club’s website and distributed by electronic mail at least two weeks prior to the vote to ratify or strike down the amendments. Amendments shall be voted on by the club at a regularly scheduled Member at Large Meeting and Social.
Article IX: Miscellaneous This constitution shall comply with applicable state and federal regulations.
